Class Actions
| IMPORTANT NOTE:
This website has been developed to provide general information
to potential class members on a number of class actions that
have been commenced by Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP.
The site is not designed to answer questions about your individual
situation or entitlement. Do not rely upon the information provided
on this website as legal advice in respect of your individual
situation nor use it as a substitute for individual legal advice.
The information collected about potential class members will
assist counsel in prosecuting the class action and assessing
what damages were suffered by the class as a whole. Providing
the information requested does not make you the client of Paliare
Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP. The court will ultimately decide
who will be included as a class member.

Definition of a class action lawsuit
A class action lawsuit is an action in which a representative
plaintiff sues or a representative defendant is sued on behalf of
a class of plaintiffs or defendants who have the same interests
in the litigation as their representative and whose rights or liabilities
can be more efficiently determined as a group than in a series of
individual suits.
Definition of a class representative
A class representative is the person named as the plaintiff
or defendant in a class action to litigate on behalf of the class.
Summary
A class action is a civil court procedure under which
one party, or a group of parties, may sue as representatives of
a larger class. To proceed, the court must permit the class action.
If the class action is certified, members of the class must be given
notice, and the opportunity to exclude themselves from the proceeding.
Only the class members who opt out are not bound by the judgment
in the case. Paliare Roland is plaintiff's counsel on several class
action cases including:
