Andrew Lewis practises as a litigator in a wide variety of civil, commercial, employment, labour, public law and administrative matters. He graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 1995 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1997. He has an honours degree in English Literature from Queen's University.
He has appeared in all levels of court, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as in mediations, arbitrations and before a number of tribunals. He has significant experience in injunction proceedings. He acted as counsel to the City of Toronto at the Toronto External Contracts Inquiry. He frequently acts for executives and other employees in relation to contract negotiations, employment obligations, and termination from employment. He is often consulted on constructive dismissal matters.
Mr. Lewis is the head of Paliare Roland’s student program and is involved in mentoring associates. He is as well an active participant in Paliare Roland’s "Doin’ Good" (charitable) endeavours. He is a member of The Advocates' Society. He has taught training courses for The Advocates' Society, the Society of Ontario Adjudicators and Regulators, and for members of the Employment Insurance Board of Referees. |
